 7. A Studio Nearby

The nearest record studio to Hungary is OPUS of Slovakia. The chief
engineer introduces the computer controlled mixing deck and the new
second generation 24 channel digital tape recorder by Sony.

 8. CD Is Out, LP is In

Hungaroton (the Hungarian recording industry, that's) immediately
following in the footsteps of the originators was among the first ones
to expand into CDs gaining a place for itself in the western market.
CDs now represent two third of Hungarian record exports. However, due
to the western manufacturing source of Hungarian CDs it'costs hard
currency to make them, and for the domestic market it translates into
prices in multiples of traditional LPs. Consequently, demand remains
high for the black discs only.

 9. Counterpoint

To counter the "digititis" caused by our present issue we publish a
report at Ortofon known as a representative of the analogue
    technology.

10. Digital Mirror Image

CD vs LP, again. Among the very best recordings ever made, the ones of
the swedish Opus 3 should certainly be included. Demo recordings of
Opus 3 are produced on both black and silver. A comparison of sound
quality in order to ascertaine where the digital revolution could be.
Still we are less than enthusiastic.
